Commissioner Bill Bratton says the city's police department is taking steps to address the changing face of terrorism,in the wake of final week's fatal mass shooting in San Bernardino, California that left 14 people dead.
Bratton said that includes additional training for officers and a multi-pronged approach to active shooter situations.
Bratton said officers are also working on building and strengthening relationships that'll help prevent radicalization."Developing trust between police and community, or police and religious institutions,to be watchful for a change in behavior of a friend, a loved one, or a person attending a religious institution or a college or a school," he said.
