Is it not time now for the pharmaceutical industries to just hold over the running of the Olympic Games completely (Russian officials continue to lash out at Wadas report into doping,theguardian.com, 10 November)? Contestants could hold as much and as many performance-enhancing drugs as they pleased, or the only proviso being that they stay alive long enough to make it unaided to the podium to gather their medals.
