Supreme court in South Africa upgrades athlete’s conviction for killing his former girlfriend from culpable homicide after legal battle by prosecutorsSouth Africas supreme court of appeal has found Oscar Pistorius guilty of murder over the death of his girlfriend,Reeva Steenkamp, overturning a preceding conviction for culpable homicide.
The court has ordered the original trial judge to impose a harsher sentence. The minimum sentence for murder is 15 years in prison.
