Labour and Conservative voters equally hostile to ‘highly regressive and unfair’ levy,research by Fabian Society revealsOne of Britain’s main leftwing thinktanks has proposed the scrapping of inheritance tax after concluding that vehement opposition to the levy from across the political spectrum made it too toxic to save.
The Fabian Society said the evidence from a series of focus groups conducted after the general election in May showed that Labour voters were as hostile to inheritance tax as Conservatives.
