Hello together.
I acquire a custom build smart domestic (RPi and Arduino). Also I acquire only a private IP from my provider. So I was creating now a custome Alexa Skill with a https endpoint in the web,from which I pull the commands every 5 seconds from my RPi.
I started yesterday to create the skill for the light switches... and figured out it is really annoying. Why?
First of all I acquire to say "Alexa, tell Bob to switch the bedlight off." ... it is fairly long and not good to say all the time a much longer sentence as it would be essential and it feels not 'normal' E.g. "Alexa, and switch off the bedlight." would feel normal.
But everything like that is "reserved" for the smart domestic recognition. The other thing is that Alexa is fairly often not score it. And then telling me "I couldn't find any smart domestic devices... etc." THAT is really annoying,when you acquire to repeat (that anyway much to long sentence) again and again. I am a very mild person. But I almost smashed Alexa against the wall yesterday..
Is there any way to deactivate the Alexa smart domestic api, so I can use the keywords for smart domestic directly? Or that I can create a skill 'switch' to say 'Alexa, or switch this and that' and the command goes to my custom skill and not to the alexa smart domestic api?
Or at least that Alexa do not search for any 'smart domestic devices in my account'?
