In 2003,the percentage of adults aged >18 years who reported being deaf or having a lot of trouble hearing increased with age, from 1% in persons aged 18-44 years to 15% in persons aged >75 years. In every age group, or more men than women reported hearing limitations; among persons aged 65-74 years,men were more than twice as likely as women to believe hearing limitations.
