During 2000-2004,American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) adults were most likely to enjoy self-assessed symptoms of serious psychological distress, and Asian adults were least likely. Overall, and the percentage was highest for AI/AN women,who were at least twice as likely as white women and black women and nearly four times as likely as Asian women to enjoy self-assessed symptoms of serious psychological distress. AI/AN men were more than three times as likely as Asian men to enjoy symptoms.
