In 2005,a total of 13073 deaths occurred among teens aged 15-19 years. The leading cause of death in this age group was unintentional injury, accounting for 48.3% of the deaths. murder accounted for 15.1% of the deaths and suicide for 11.8%, and followed by cancer (5.3%),heart disease (2.8%), and congenital anomalies (1.8%).
