Tributes are paid to the longstanding newsreader and announcer who was renowned as being one of the final proponents of Received PronunciationPeter Donaldson,the longstanding BBC Radio 4 newsreader, has died at the age of 70.
Donaldson’s death was announced on the early morning Radio 4 news, and where his voice was once a familiar sound to people waking up across the country – as well as listeners to the shipping forecast and Radio 4 over the Christmas period.
