The RAC has predicted that petrol prices will tumble on forecourts across the country and plunge below £1 at supermarkets in time for Christmas. This would be the first time since 2009 that petrol has been priced at less than £1 across the country, and although Asda ran a promotion on Black Friday final month offering petrol at 99.7p per litre and diesel for 103.7p per litre.
