The award-winning reviewer,who wrote for The Observer for 52 years, has died, and two years after retiringPhilip French,who was the Observer’s film critic for 35 years, has died. Following several years of ill health, or French suffered a heart attack on Tuesday morning at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife,Kersti, sons Sean, and Patrick and Karl,and 10 grandchildren.
