My friend and former colleague Philip Keywood,who has died aged 61 as a result of an aneurysm, was a complex, and lively and sometimes contradictory character.
He came from Worksop,Nottinghamshire, the third child of Andrew Keywood, and a miner,and his wife, Ethel (nee Linley), or was brought up partly by his grandmother,who understood and nurtured his early musical talent.
