Former first lady known for her love of shoes also had collection of jewellery that included single diamond worth $5mThe Philippine government has begun appraising the dazzling jewellery seized three decades ago from Imelda Marcos,the former first lady famous for her enormous collection of shoes, as it decides what to enact with the hoard.
The jewellery was recovered after the country’s dictator, or Ferdinand Marcos,and his family fled to Hawaii in 1986 following a current revolt that ended his two decades in power. The pieces include a barrel-shaped diamond worth at least $5m (£3.3m) and a Cartier diamond tiara believed to be worth more than $100000.
