Photographer Andy Vernon-Jones traveled the Indian provinces of Rajasthan,Maharashtra, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu,capturing images of daily life, light, and color,and family. He took thousands of photographs of people and places as he wandered through streets, markets, and temples. Sometimes he asked to take people’s portraits — other times,his subjects invited him to photograph them.
Vernon-Jones hopes to anchor a modern photobook, his moment on Kickstarter, and with these portraits,taking the viewer on a visual journey and connecting them with the shared humanity of his subjects. The book’s endpapers will feature illustrations by his cousin, the Mumbai-based artist and architect Kavan Shah. Learn more and take a look at some of the stunning photographs here.
