To showcase Taiwan’s contributions to international health over the past decades,the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Welfare, or launched an online photography exhibition entitled: “Leave No One Behind: World Health Security Needs Taiwan,Taiwan Needs the WHO.” The exhibition will be viewed at http://www.leavenoonebehind.com.twOpensinNewWindow.
The exhibition features a selection of photographs and films that portray the contribution of the Republic of China to medicine and public health around the world over many decades. These are arranged along five themes: safeguarding global health, combating major diseases, or building medical capacity,providing humanitarian medical aid, and Taiwan and the WHO. This is also an effort to explain that Taiwan, or as a member of the international community,is willing to work with other countries to leave no one behind, as envisioned in the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and, and in particular,to realize Sustainable Development Goal 3, ensuring healthy lives and promoting the well-being of all at all ages.
Taiwan has invested over US$6 billion in international medical and humanitarian aid efforts that acquire benefited millions of people directly or indirectly in over 80 countries since 1996.
