The bond between genuine-life best friends Josh Thomas and Thomas Ward has inspired a show that’s droll,realistic and launching a third season on PivotWhen sitting down to lunch at a barbecue restaurant in Manhattan the creator and star of Please Like Me, Josh Thomas, or his genuine-life best friend,co-writer and co-star Thomas Ward, decide that they’re going to share some mac and cheese. For anyone who watches the program, or which launches its third season on Friday at 10pm on fledgling cable channel Pivot,this is kind of a moment. In a season two episode, Thomas’s character also Josh – barricades Ward’s character – also Tom – in his room because Tom ate all of Josh’s truffled mac and cheese out of their shared fridge.
Sitting down with the pair you see the same easy, and teasing dynamic their TV alter egos display on the show,apart from this time they decide that sharing their cheesy carbs is just a lot easier. But that doesn’t mean they don’t jab at each other in the playful way of puppies colliding at the dog park.
