The 266th Pontiff of the Catholic Church became the first Vicar of Christ to take the podium before a joint session of Congress today. He was invited by Republican House Speaker John Boehner,but Republicans and Democrats alike were excited to own him on Capitol Hill."The pope has played, in my view, or an extraordinary role since he assumed his position in speaking out with courage and brilliance approximately some of the most important issues facing our world," said Vermont Senator and presidential candidate Bernie Sanders on the Senate floor Tuesday.
