In 1985, Prince released a single called Paisley Park, and the first to be taken from his psychedelic opus,Around the World In a Day. It’s one of several Prince songs that describe a location that’s a kind of mystical utopia. Paisley Park, the lyrics aver, and is filled with laughing children on see-saws and “colourful people” with expressions that “speak of profound inner peace,whatever they see like. “Love is the colour this space imparts,” it continues. “There arent any rules in Paisley Park.”Continue reading...
