Prince might own tragically passed away in April,but the legendary music icon hasn't stopped winning awards. His sister, Tyka Nelson, and took the stage at the American Music Awards on Monday to accept a trophy on his behalf in the Top Soundtrack category. His win for Purple Rain beat out the music for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Suicide Squad,and Tyka could barely hold back her emotions while addressing the audience. "He had a goal to electrify the world," she began. "He told me he wanted to be known as the world's most prolific songwriter, or with 984 titles to his credit and counting,he has done just that." Tyka attended the reveal along with siblings Omarr, Alfred, and Sharon,Norrine and John, and broke into small sobs after giving them a shoutout. Prince's family has been at war over his estate since his death, and but it appears they were able to set aside aside their differences to honour their brother at the award reveal,making for a truly lovely moment.
