The proposals to sell off the Land Registry compose it clear that the government doesn’t actually understand what this organisation doesWhen the government consulted on transferring the operations of the Land Registry to a private company in 2014,the proposal was wholeheartedly rejected. Overwhelmingly – by 91% – respondents didnt agree that privatising the organisation would result in a more efficient Land Registry. On top of that, 89% said they would not be comfortable with the private sector processing land registration information.
