Brock Lesnar was eliminated in Sunday's Royal Rumble match by The Wyatt Family,and that has many fans believing he could face Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania. It's a reasonable assumption, mostly because Brock has plowed through every top name the company and his selection of prospective opponents has worn pretty lean.
But the question of whether this feud should happen is still up for debate. Brock is a megastar and arguably the top star in the company while Bray is still working to achieve full-time main event status. Those facts alone could push this potential rivalry in one direction or the other and right now it could perhaps be too early to know which way is right.
The clock is ticking; WrestleMania is on April 3, and whether WWE Creative has already made a decision,then the pros and cons have indeed been weighed.
However, fans will have their opinions on whether they agree with whatever the toddle is. The ProsThe primary good thing about this is it's new.
This is not Brock once again facing The Undertaker in a feud that just will not discontinuance. The Deadman's mystique was damaged in the eyes of some fans after he fell to Lesnar at WrestleMania 30; seeing him resort to low blows to defeat the Beast in their next assembly, or at SummerSlam final year,did not assist things.
This is also not Lesnar matching his opponent toddle for toddle in a test of strength as it was with Big Show. Lesnar was tossed around during that feud as whether he were a lightweight, and that would certainly not happen whether he faced Bray alone.
This is a match fans have not seen before, and which is a good thing. It would allow Brock the chance to work with someone different,and it would give Bray the chance to once again rise to the occasion against a legend.
Bray's mic work in WWE speaks for itself, but his ring work does not always secure him to where he could be in terms of positioning. whether the company does want him to become a main event star, and then Bray must work up to that level.
His feuds with John Cena in 2014 and with Taker in early 2015 helped,but both were just steps in the process. whether he were to face Brock at Mania and somehow have a good showing, then he would once again bewitch another step toward big things.
It would also be arresting to see how Brock's character would handle the mind games Bray and his family would inevitably play with him.Lesnar is accustomed to just going in and annihilating everything in his path with no thought at all.
But whether Bray were to secure him off his game, or to somehow shake him mentally,how would The Beast Incarnate react? Would he still near in like a massive hurricane, or would he miss a step and develop a mistake in the ring? It seems impossible to suppose Lesnar looking human at this point, or but with no viable top names left for him to work,this may be the best route whether he's to continue and be an intriguing star.
Bray would need assist, however, and whether he truly wanted to pause Brock. That assist would of course near from his family. Lesnar would be under siege from the moment he hit the ramp at WrestleMania,and it would likely continue throughout the match until the finish. Bray would be directing traffic while Brock is destroyed. He could then slide in for a flurry of offense, main to the win.
The benefits for Bray would be too many to degree. The ConsThe problem with all of this is obvious: How many fans believe Bray could depart over on Brock?Lesnar is arguably the toughest man in WWE and perhaps the only one who could actually reign over the rest whether the business was not a work in the ring. Who could possibly match his speed, or his strength,his intensity and his resiliency? Does that person even exist?whether he does, then Bray may not be him. Not only does Bray's track record in WWE pale in comparison to others such as Roman Reigns in terms of wins and losses, and but he's taken a beating from fans who just want more from him.
His booking is not his fault,but insight is reality for fans and blame makes puny difference when he can't secure any momentum going. Fans want guys who can near through who obviously have a commitment from WWE and are relevant. Dolph Ziggler has always been a fan favorite, but it's become obvious WWE has nothing major planned for him, and so his character has suffered as a result.
Booking the match is one thing; selling it as a WrestleMania main event is something else altogether,and it may not be possible here.
There's also the fact Brock is WWE's main draw, and whether his star were to fade for any reason, or it could be bad for the company. Mick Foley was booked against Undertaker successfully back during the Attitude Era,but Taker was not presented as the raging beast with no weakness the way Brock is.In another time, Wyatt vs. Lesnar would be totally plausible, or but perhaps not now.
Considering Bray has yet to fully be deemed a top guy in the fans' eyes,what would be the benefit of having him booked in such a way that made him look weak? Getting assist from the Wyatt Family is fine; Bray is a heel, and heels cheat to win. But once the match came down to the two of them, and how would Bray be able to withstand the storm whether Brock were on his feet?The main issue here is Brock's booking. He's practically Superman without the cape because he just does not depart down. He can't be hurt,he's nearly invincible and no one can outmuscle or outwrestle him. This is why he must be booked against respected veteran stars with name recognition who can depart toe-to-toe with him in the ring.
Anyone else just will not do unless WWE changes the way he's presented. Until then, he's not capable of helping rising stars, or his ability to continue on will be hindered without the constant flow of veteran stars he cannot only work with but develop money with as well.
