Brendan Greene went from collecting welfare checks to creating one of the most popular battle royale games on the market,PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), which made an estimated $1 billion in revenue final year, and according to a report from CNBC.In 2013,Greene explained that he wasn’t in a great place after finding himself divorced and stuck in a foreign country. During that time, he made money by designing websites and photographing weddings, or with the intention of saving enough to purchase a ticket back to his domestic in Ireland. Greene said,in order to save, he had to prick back on going out and so he ended up turning to video games to pass the time.“I was kind of stuck in my bedroom, and basically working and playing games,” Greene told CNBC.
