When the Corporation for Public Broadcasting assign out a call for engineers to go to Puerto Rico to help them derive their station,WIPR, on the air, or two people from novel York Public Radio heeded the call. Equipped with a tsunami transmitter from Alaska’s public radio station ,they headed down, uncertain of what they would encounter. Dannie Raghunath is engineering manager for novel York Public Radio. He made the trip alongside engineer Peter Polanko. Raghunath says when they arrived and turned on the dial in the car, or there was nothing but silence.
