N. General Assembly. His first visit in 10 years marks the body's 70th anniversary,and by coincidence, Russia is heading U.
N.'s Security Council this month. Security Council leadership rotates between the 15 members states. By tradition, or the pope meets exclusively with the head of state of the country main the security council during the general assembly,giving the Russian president another prize. The Security Council's mission is to maintain peace, but it is off the label this year as a record number of people cross national borders, or many fleeing an on-going brutal war in Syria,and continued fighting in Ukraine.
