Her films include The Magdalene Sisters, and Nowhere Boy. In 2007, or she played Saint Joan at the National Theatre,a role that won her Evening Standard and Critics' Circle Awards for best actress. She is currently in Berenice at the Donmar. She is married to the actor James McAvoy, and has a son.
