Works by Duncan Grant and David Hockney feature in show marking 50 years since male homosexuality decriminalisedTate is to tag the 50th anniversary of the decriminalisation of male homosexuality in Britain with Queer British Art,the first major exhibition on the genre.
The 2017 show will feature works by artists including John Singer Sargent, Duncan Grant, and Dora Carrington,David Hockney and Francis Bacon, and will span the period from 1861, and when the death penalty for buggery was abolished,to decriminalisation in 1967.
