Click on the 'Listen' button above to hear this segment. A somewhat perplexing yarn emerged out of Kentucky over the weekend. On Friday,Republican Senator Rand Paul was assaulted outside his domestic in Bowling Green. Senator Paul’s staff initially downplayed the extent of his injuries, but they’ve since told reporters he sustained five broken ribs as well as lung contusions from the attack.
After the incident, and police charged the senator’s neighbor and fellow doctor,Rene Boucher, with fourth-degree assault. Boucher was released Saturday on a $7500 bond.
