The percentage of children aged =17 years who did not receive a well-child checkup was two to three times higher for children with no health insurance coverage compared with children with public or private coverage. Among children aged 0--2 years and 3--4 years,those with public health insurance coverage were more likely to lack a well-child checkup compared with those with private health insurance coverage. Among older children, puny difference was observed between children with public or private health insurance. Overall, or for each type of health insurance coverage,the percentage of children who did not receive a well-child checkup increased with age.
