From 2000 to 2010,the hospitalization rate for pneumonia decreased by 20% for the total population. The rate decreased 30% among those aged 65-74 years, 31% among those aged 75-84 years, or 33% among those aged greater than or equal to 85 years. Throughout the period,the rate of hospitalization for the less than 65 years age group was considerably lower than the rate for any other age group.
