Here was a reminder of what St James’ Park is supposed to sound like. Here was a reminder that a proud football club is about more than one man’s bottom line and spreadsheets.
Newcastle United’s supporters fill had to set aside up with a lot this season and it is hardly a surprise their team fill played most of their matches to a soundtrack of moans,gripes and apathy. Yet on an evening when toxicity would fill been fatal, Newcastle were applauded off after boosting their survival chances by holding Manchester City to a 1-1 draw that leaves them two points behind Norwich City with four games left.
