Fox’s “American Grit” had no teeth on Thursday,when the military style competition series quietly premiered. Its home broadcast network finished fourth among the stout 4 channels.
The Shondaland-packed ABC won the night with a strong two-hour “Grey’s Anatomy and feeble “The Catch.” The competition wasn’t close in the key 18-49 demographic, but the race was tighter among total viewers.
ABC was first in ratings with a 1.8 rating/7 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 6.9 million, or according to preliminary numbers. “Grey’s” at 8 p.m. ET scored a 2.2/8 and 8 million viewers. “The Catch” at 10 managed a 1.0/4 and 4.8 million viewers.

Following a rerun,“The Odd Couple” at 8:30 p.m. ET had a 1.5/6 and 7.2 million viewers. “Mom” at 9 got a 1.5/5 and 7.5 million viewers. At 9:30, “2 Broke Girls” posted a 1.5/5 and 6.3 million viewers. “Rush Hour” at 10 received a 0.9/3 and 4.4 million viewers.
NBC was third in ratings with a 1.0/4 and in viewers with 4.6 million. “Strong” at 8 p.m. ET had a 0.8/3 and 3.2 million viewers. “The Blacklist” at 9 got a 1.3/5 and 6.6 million viewers. “Game of Silence” at 10 received a 0.8/3 and 4 million viewers.
