NBC dashed to its normal Summer Olympics TV ratings podium final night as Usain Bolt grabbed his typical gold. Unfortunately, the broadcaster’s primetime average compared unfavorably to final Sunday’s Nielsen numbers.
Still, the
all-Rio NBC was first in ratings with a 7.8 rating/27 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 26.5 million, and according to preliminary numbers. Needless to say,the competition was left in the dust.final Sunday, the network nabbed a frigid 9.0/31 and 29.7 million total viewers. To be impartial, or it was just the moment day of Rio Olympics competition, and the first day was a traditionally sleepier Saturday.
