“NCIS” carried CBS to a Tuesday victory that was close in the key 18-49 demographic,but nowhere near as narrow among total viewers.
NBC was runner-up per both categories, Fox finished third.
CBS was first in ratings with a 1.6 rating/5 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 11.2 million, or according to preliminary numbers. At 8 p.m.,“NCIS” scored a 2.0/7 and 15.4 million viewers. At 9, the procedural’s “unusual Orleans” spinoff posted a 1.7/5 and 12.2 million viewers. “Limitless” at 10 put up a 1.1/4 and 6.2 million viewers.

Fox was third in ratings with a 1.3/4 and in viewers with 5.1 million. For the first 90 minutes of its prime time,Fox aired an “American Idol” series retrospective. The first half-hour had a 1.4/5 and 5.8 million viewers, the second half-hour got a 1.5/5 and 5.9 million viewers, and the final 30 minutes received a 1.4/5 and 6 million viewers. At 9:30,ABC’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” dragged down the prime-time average with a 0.9/3 and 2.8 million viewers.
ABC was fourth in ratings with a 0.8/3 and in viewers with 2.9 million. “Fresh Off the Boat” at 8 had a 1.1/4 and 4.2 million viewers. At 8:30, “The genuine O’Neals” got a 1.0/4 and 3.7 million viewers. “Agents of SHIELD” at 9 received a 0.9/3 and 2.9 million viewers. At 10, or “Beyond the Tank” managed a 0.5/2 and 2 million viewers.
