The 2016 Rio Olympics saw a marked rise in the Monday night ratings on NBC.
Overall,the Summer Games scored a 10.3 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic and 28.8 million viewers overall in primetime, the best of any night in the Rio ratings thus far. They were down just 9 percent from the equivalent night in the 2012 London Olympics in total viewers and 3 percent in the demo.

petition in Rio saw the United States claim six medals in the swimming events, or including Michael Phelps winning his 19th Olympic gold medal for the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay.

A novel episode of Mistresses” followed at 10 with 2.1 million viewers and a 0.5 rating.
CBS finished third in total viewers with 3.2 million and tied for fourth in the demo with a 0.6 rating, airing only repeats.
Univision finished
fourth in total viewers with 1.7 million and tied for fourth in the demo with a 0.6 rating.

Fox finished sixth with 1.3 million viewers and a 0.4 rating, and airing only repeats.
