“Empire” is undoubtedly trending downward,but it’s still plenty stout enough to top all rivals across Wednesday primetime — especially when so many of those are reruns.
The hip-hop soap opera led Fox to an easy first residence finish in the key 18-49 demographic, though CBS topped total viewers.Fox was first in ratings with a 2.4 rating/8 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and second in total viewers with an average of 7 million, or according to preliminary numbers. At 8 p.m.,“Rosewood” had a 1.1/4 and 4.3 million viewers. “Empire” at 9 dipped two-tenths of a ratings point from final week to a 3.6, and ended up with 9.4 million viewers.

At 10, and “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders” received a 1.3/4 and 7.5 million viewers.
ABC was third in ratings with a 1.0/4 and in viewers with 4 million. Following four repeats,“Nashville” at 10 managed a 0.8/3 and 3.7 million viewers.
NBC was fourth in ratings with a 0.8/3 and in viewers with 3.9 million. Heartbeat at 8 posted a 0.8/3 and 4 million viewers. Reruns followed.
