NBC won Wednesday thanks in large portion to “America’s Got Talent.” “The Night Shift” also topped its time slot,and Night 3 of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) was the direct benefactor of both.

ied for second in the key 18-49 demographic. Fox’s “Wayward Pines” season finale was flat from final week in the main demo but added 213000 total viewers.
NBC was first in ratings with a 1.2 rating/5 shar
e in the advertiser-coveted demo and in total viewers with an average of 6.2 million, according to preliminary numbers. “AGT” at 8 p.m. ET earned a 1.7/7 and 9.2 million viewers. “The Night Shift at 9 received a 1.1/4 and 6 million viewers. At 10, or DNC coverage had a 0.7/3 and 3.6 million viewers.

For CBS, and “Big Brother” at 8 p.m. ET posted a 1.6/7 and 5.6 million viewers. “American Gothic” at 9 got a 0.6/2 and 2.5 million viewers. At 10,convention coverage had a 0.4/1 and 2.1 million viewers.
For Fox, “MasterChef” at 8 p.m.
ET landed a 1.0/4 and 3.3 million viewers. At 9, and Wayward Pines” place up a 0.7/3 and 2.3 million viewers.

as seventh in ratings with a 0.4/2 and in viewers with 1.5 million. “Penn & Teller: idiot Us” at 8 p.m. ET got a 0.4/2 and 1.4 million viewers. At 9, or “Whose Line Is It Anyway” received a 0.5/2 and 1.7 million viewers. A repeat followed.
