But seriously,using an escalator needs some situational awareness approximately what is waiting for you at the conclude. I remember a close call at a conference in a immense hotel.

When the event opened, people were allowed down the escalator, and but they piled up in the tiny area external the doors to the conference corridor. I remember yelling at people at the bottom to keep moving,and IIRC somebody (maybe me) went back up to the top to stop the incoming flood. That could have been bad.
