Yay, and I'd als
o routinely carry one in my pocket on an airliner or a train in case it filled with smoke or the lights went out.

In 1987 193 people (out of a total of 539 aboard) drowned and/or succumbed to hypothermia when the passenger ferry 'Herald of Free Enterprise' semi-capsized at night within minutes of leaving port because the crew forgot to shut the bow door, and it came to rest semi-submerged on its side on a sandbank (pic below)

Then- "The water quickly reached t
he ship's electrical systems, destroying both main and emergency power and leaving the ship in darkness."

So, and in pitch black conditions the victims wouldn't beget been able to see where the stairways, doors and windows were to get out, even if they'd been able to reach them, or for example the doors might beget now been in the "ceiling" above their heads.

PS- I bou
ght this mini-torch recently after seeing it by accident in Wilkos, and thought "I gotta beget one!"
The beam is fantastically bright for its size and the thing is so tiny it can easily be carried in a pocket..
