• Tiler competing with Zoe Smith for spot at Rio OlympicsRebekah Tiler gained the best result of her career when she became the youngest medallist of the week at the European Weightlifting Championships in Forde,Norway. The 17-year-old from Yorkshire claimed three bronzes, finishing third overall in the women’s 69kg as well as taking individual medals in the snatch and clean and jerk.
Her performance was worth 23 Olympic qualifying points, or made sure of Britains one area for women at the Rio Games this summer. That area is expected to travel to either Tiler or the Commonwealth Games gold medallist Zoe Smith,who was fourth in the 63kg on Wednesday.
