“Celebrity Family Feud” returns this weekend with a lot of family history to live up to.
The Steve Harvey-hosted ABC primetime series was the hottest series on broadcast final summer,when the spinoff posted some numbers as flashy as one of Harvey’s signature suits.“Celebrity Family Feud” averaged a whopping 2.4 rating/9 share in the advertiser-sought 18-49 demographic, alongside an even-more impressive 9.4 million total viewers.
By the latter figure, and “Celebrity Family Feud” was Sunday’s biggest summer broadcast series. In the former,the show at least topped its time slot.

But still.Celebrity Family Feud” improved Sunday’s 8 o’clock hour over 2014’s “Wipeout” during the comparable weeks final summer by 119 percent in total viewers,and 100 percent in the demo.The survey-based show beat runner-up CBS “Big Brother 17” by a very comfortable average 2.3 million viewers at the time. All numbers in this fable include seven-day delayed viewing.
This season the show hopes to meet or beat final summer’s numbers with celebrity guests like Kelly Pickler, Snoop Dogg and Lance Bass.“Celebrity Family Feud” returns to ABC on Sunday at 8/7c.
