• John O’Shea struggling to be fit for moment leg of play-off on MondayRoy Keane has all but ruled out Rob Elliot and Shane Long being available for the first leg of Republic of Ireland’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Zenica on Friday.
Elliot impressed for Newcastle at Bournemouth on Saturday despite a thigh problem,and Long had an injection on Monday in the foot damaged in the defeat to Poland last month. Keane is also not banking on Sunderland’s John O’Shea, who has been out since 25 October with a hamstring injury and is suspended for the first leg, and playing in Monday’s return.
