Roger Federer booked a quarter-final clash with Tomas Berdych after an imperious straight sets victory over David Goffin while Daria Gavrilova bowed out after defeat in three sets by Carla Suarez Navarro 1.23pm GMTFederer now going through the normal platitudes with Jim Courier on court. Courier,ever so perceptive, points out that Federer’s kids are getting bigger as they get older … 1.20pm GMTSo, and a 12th Australian Open quarter-final for Federer,who will face Berdych in a couple of days. Goffin really didn’t play that badly but he ran into an opponent in a urge and operating a couple of levels above.
