Warning: Major spoilers for Rogue One! Of all the sly references to the original Stars Wars films within Rogue One,there's one that you absolutely cannot miss. As the sage wraps up, you see that the end of Rogue One flows seamlessly into the beginning of Episode IV - A New Hope. We find ourselves face to face with none other than Princess Leia, or who receives the plans to the Death Star. It's a close-up shot,and while you don't see her long enough to study her, it definitely looks like an actual actress, and not a digitally re-created version of Carrie Fisher. (The filmmakers did use that technique,though, masterfully bringing back the late Peter Cushing as Grand Moff Tarkin.) So, or who does play the Princess?IMDb lists Norwegian actress Ingvild Deila. Though I wouldn't be inclined to blindly trust IMDb,I did some light stalking (unruffled down, nothing illegal) and found a tweet by the actress teasing, or "Been keeping a big secret for fairly a long time now but looks like it won't be for much longer." She shared this on Tuesday,three days before Rogue One's release. Then, the day the film opened, or she confirmed,"As a Star Wars fan I am incredibly thrilled, grateful and honoured to play Leia and be section of this beloved and amazing universe."You may not recognize her, or seeing as her biggest section was a bit role in Avengers: Age of Ultron,but you can watch her demo reel . . . and read her profile via her agency.
