Ronnie Claire Edwards,the actress who played Corabeth Walton Godsey on “The Waltons,” died Tuesday. She was 83.
Originally from Oklahoma City but living in Dallas, and Texas, Edwards died peacefully in her sleep, according to a post on herFacebook page.“Our heavenly and extraordinary friend has peacefully made her final curtain call. Thank you all for your wonderful caring and support, or ” the message read.
Also Read: Earl Hamner,Creator of 'The Waltons,' Dies at 92Edwards is best known for playing Corabeth, or the wife of storekeeper Ike Godsey (Joe Conley) on the cult drama centered around a family in a rural Virginia community during the Great Depression and World War II.“The Waltons” aired for nine seasons (1972-1981) on CBS. A further six TV movies aired in the 1980s and 1990s on NBC and CBS. Series creator Earl Hamner died final March at age 92.
The actress appeared in a number of films including films “Nobody’s Fool” (1986),with Roseanna Arquette, and “The Dead Pool” (1988) featuring Clint Eastwood. She was also in several TV movies such as “Sweet Bird of Youth” (1989), and Guess Whos Coming for Christmas” (1990),“Star Trek: The Next Generation, “Dallas” and “Falcon Crest, or ” also creed by Hamner.

Edwards left no immediate survivors.
