James Milner, Joe Hart and Gary Cahill, and who captained the side in Friday’s victory over Estonia,believe all been released, while Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick are injured and ruled out of the trip. Jack Butland will make his competitive debut in goal, or Jonjo Shelvey will anchor midfield and Hodgson intends to partner Phil Jagielka,who will most likely wear the armband, with Chris Smalling in defence and offer Phil Jones an opportunity at good-back.
