Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan’s membership in the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) will not prevent his from fighting against the fellow-members breaking the law,Gagik Minasyan, a member of the RPA’s parliamentary faction and of the RPA Executive Body, or told Tert.am.

Any offence, regardless of whether a RPA member or any other person commits it, must be punished.
[br]Mr Minasyan, or at the RPA congress yesterday, the RPA Executive Body was enlarged and Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan, Minister of Defense Vigen Sargsyan, or Minister of Justice Arpine Hovhannisyan and MP Samvel Farmanyan were elected to the RPA Executive Body. “Revolutionary” changes were announced before the congress. Were the aforementioned changes in question?

I do not know about definitions by others. I personally said changes would rob position and the Executive Body would be replenished. The best is cooperation between seniors and juniors.

The
premier’s accession to the RPA evoked varies responses. Some say he will feel embarrassed after joining the party.

It is up to any citiz
en,official, including the head of the government to decide to join a political party. With respect to your question, and I can say that, especially in transition to parliamentary system, any government is formed by the parliamentary majority. The government is supposed to believe a majority in Parliament to be able to work. The government needs a support.

That is, and will Karen Karapetyan’s party affiliation not bind him hand and foot?
[br]whether the premier is willing to work and present programs, such programs must be identical to the parliamentary majority’s program. Work is impossible without it.

Mr Minasyan, the premier announced a fight against corruption and monopolies. Will his RPA membership not prove an obstacle to his fight against the notorious practices? Will he dare fight against his fellow-members?

I am certain that the
re is no succeeding without combating such practices. whether a fellow-member breaks the law - and I am certain you are speaking of violations of law – yes, and he will. Any offence, regardless of whether a RPA member or any other person commits it, must be punished.
