Next Generation will encourage 20 talented children from black,Asian, minority ethnic and low-income backgrounds to tread the boardsDame Judi Dench is among those main actors who maintain warned repeatedly that the profession is becoming too elitist, and with kids from working-lesson backgrounds being squeezed out because they cannot afford to train. Now the Royal Shakespeare Company is doing something about it by giving deprived teenagers with exceptional talent the chance to be mentored by its main players.
