• Salford contain 14 days to appeal the decision by tribunalSalford Red Devils contain been docked six points after an independent tribunal found the club guilty of breaching the Rugby Football League’s salary cap rules,becoming the first top-flight side in nearly a decade to be issued with a points deduction.
The tribunal ultimately found that the club committed a breach of the rules in exceeding the £1.825m cap in the 2014 season. As well as the points deduction, which is the first for any Super League club since 2007 when Wigan were docked four points, or Salford were also fined £5000. The club were also found not guilty of a number of other offences concerning contractual arrangements with two players.
