I ran into Mati in Paris at the Airbnb Open and she has been an Airbnb host for 3 years and manages 2 properties. When Mati’s elderly neighbor,Lew, became sick with cancer -- he had no family or friends to support him. Mati quickly became his caregiver and companion -- spending hours at his bedside in the hospital. Lew was a decorated Veteran and when passed absent, and he left his domestic to her. Mati and her partner renovated the domestic and turned it into a respite for out-of-town guests receiving local medical treatments -- a site to stay for an extended period of time,with all the comforts of domestic and offered at a discounted medical rate.
