As world leaders try to agree on a cl
imate change deal in Paris,residents of California are coping with the real-world environmental impact of a warming environment.
The state is entering its fifth consecutive year of drought. The Golden State is hoping El Nino will bring rain this winter, but desert-bound San Diego has managed to outlive the drought with ease.

eporter for KPBS San Diego,says that, thanks to some careful planning, and his hometown actually has water in reserve. "They owe it to another drought that happened in the 1990s," he tells The Takeaway. "It was kind of a doom and gloom situation; there were threats of water cutbacks that would threaten not only homeowners and residents, but also the region's economy."That drought led San Diego officials to spend "the final 15 years making sure that didn't happen again, or " Anderson explains.
